    A beautiful small city at the foothills.

    A beautiful small city at the foothills. It has a lot ot cafes and all prime sight seeing locations around are well reachable. People are warm and nice and there is enough to do for all types and age groups of people. There is a sushi restaurant which is undoubtedly the best in Slovakia.

    Life is very quiet on the main Plaza where there are no cars...

    Life is very quiet on the main Plaza where there are no cars circulating. There are no traffic lights on the streets. There are coffee places all around restaurants where you can have typical food from Slovakia. Banská Bistrice is a city with a Soul - people are curious and friendly (I speak a bit of Czech). One afternoon there was a grandma lady explaining to 15-20 grandmoms about the charmings of the city.

    Our stay has been enjoyable.

    Our stay has been enjoyable. There is not much around the main square, but it is a very nice and quiet city. Foreigners are rare, but the locals usually speak English and do their best to make you feel good. The restaurants we visited had okay prices and very good food. The main issue is that the city is not very accessible unless you have a car

    Arcade is the first proper hotel in Banská Bystrica whose standards match the year 2025 and the size of the city. It is located just a 3-minute walk from SNP Square, the main square in Banská Bystrica. The hotel is new, clean, and has an underground garage where you can park comfortably at a very reasonable price. The front desk staff were polite and professional in their communication. However, during checkout, they forgot to ask the usual question — whether everything was alright and if we enjoyed our stay.

    Fantastic location in old building right in the city center, very stylish, lots of space, beds extremely comfortable, Pavol, the host was extremely helpful and responding very fast - only one downside: the appartment lacked air condition or a fan, which is usually not an issue, I suppose, but with 35 degrees outside was a challenge. Would definitely recommend appartment to anyone who wants to spend a couple of nights in the beautiful town of Banska Bystrica.

    The room was actually an apartment with a separate kitchen area, a sitting area and a sleeping area, and a balcony. The staff was kind and attentive, the hotel's location is good, just a short walk from Banská Bystrica mesto train station, a short walk in the other direction from the central SNP Square, and next door to the State Opera! Wifi connection good and the big complimentary mineral water bottle was a nice touch.

    Apartmant was great - spacious, comfy, well-equipped... Everything you need. Apartmant is in the city center, location is great as well as the private safe parking. Host was always available via messages for our concerns and parking instructions. If we come again in Banska Bystrica, we will definitely stay in the same hotel. Thank you!
