This is the village where my husband's grandfather lived...
This is the village where my husband's grandfather lived most of his life until he was about 17/18 years old. We came to explore our family tree and ended up meeting about 19 family members during our 2 night stay in Batizovce. We also drove up to the High Tatras (just 30 minutes away) and walked around the lake at Strbske Pleso then enjoyed a lovely meal at the Grand Hotel Kempinski. Our only complaint was that there really isn't a fully operational restaurant in the village. We had to drive to Svit (which was only about 5 minutes away) but we would have preferred to walk somewhere. The village only has 9,500 residents so maybe they just don't have the numbers to have a restaurant that is open more than a few hours each day.Guest review byShelbyUnited States
