FAQs about hotels in Bratislava

Capital with a Small Town Feel

Charming and compact Bratislava is the world’s only capital city bordering 2 countries – Austria and Hungary, all watered by the beautiful River Danube. South is the modern city and a peaceful forest, but the real Bratislava attractions are over Novy most (New Bridge), an impressive structure with an UFO-like pylon. The castle on a rock overlooking the Old Town offers the best views of it. The rock itself contains a Jewish cemetery and a literally underground club.

Opposite is St Martin’s Cathedral, coronation site of past Hungarian kings. The cobbled streets behind are lined with outdoor restaurants and bars. The city’s speciality is treska, a cold cod salad, washed down with white wine from the nearby Small Carpathian mountains.

The main square is Hlavne namestie, home to pastel-coloured buildings, a 14th-century town hall housing the city museum, and the Bratislava Christmas markets. Hodzovo namestie square features the Peace Earth sculpture and Baroque Grassalkovich Palace, the presidential residence guarded by the Slovak National Guard. Across the park is the Archiepiscopal Palace, seat of the government. All around are many Bratislava hotels, B&Bs and apartments available on Booking.com.

Before heading to Bratislava Airport, visit Kamzìk TV tower whose revolving restaurant and observation deck offer magnificent city views.

This city has its charm but is small. 2-3 days on foot with a semi full schedule and you can see most of the sites. Taxis are cheap almost everything is walk-able distance and the best thing it is cheap. Lots of nice architecture, old soviet style buildings. The Devin castle ruins was a really nice place on a nice sunny day and the UFO tower on top pf the bridge I would recommend because you get some awesome views of the city and castle.

A lovely place to visit, so many restaurants and bars.

A lovely place to visit, so many restaurants and bars. Quiet a few stag and hen parties, but they weren’t in the areas we chose to frequent, so didn’t affect us. An interesting place with a great deal of history

Subject: Formal Request for Refund of Deposit – Accommodation Reservation To Whom It May Concern, On September 26, 2025, based on a request from the property owner, I transferred a deposit of €100 for the reservation of the accommodation titled "Pleasant apartment under the Bratislava castle". The funds were sent to the owner's bank account, as evidenced by the attached documentation. Despite repeated assurances that the deposit would be refunded, the amount has not yet been credited back to my account. I hereby formally request the immediate return of the full deposit. Should this matter not be resolved within 24 hours of receipt of this notice, I will be compelled to initiate further legal steps, including contacting the relevant authorities and pursuing the claim through legal representation. I trust this issue can be resolved promptly and amicably, without the need for legal proceedings. Sincerely, Daniel Pikalík

Bratislava is a beautiful city, very modern and clean, yet manages to preserve and enhance its history. The only negative is the customer service, which is often rude, almost impolite. You need to be very patient to avoid letting this ruin your experience with this city, which is worthwhile.

Really nice and comfortable doubleroom flat is opposite to Bratislava Bus station and we use it for short night because we need catch the soon morning bus to Vienna airport. It is in the city centre, Nivy bus station and big shopping mall Nivy is just across the street. Just 10-15 min walk to old town. In front of the main entrance there is a Street food open till late night. Really good and flexible communication with landlord. Some sweets and snifters were waiting for us on the table :)

The localisation of hotel is excellent. Building is settled in centre of city and well-coordinated with major districts in Bratislava like Old Town, Nové Mesto or Petržalka. Moreover, breakfast were delicious and full of variety of choice with available products to eat. Every person from hotel staff, I met, was kind and helpful with any problem or difficulty. Room, in which I was accommodated, was cosy, comfortable and cleaned by staff everyday.

I have in business trip to Vienna and on my way back to London stayed at Clarion Congress with my kid. I liked the hotel : large room with great minibar, warm and clean. Our window view was into the others window into a courtyard. It didn’t bother us as we rarely stayed. The breakfast was good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The old town of beautiful Bratislava was in 15 minutes walk by foot from the hotel.

The hotel was amazing. The room was very spacious and clean with all the amenities, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The location was perfect. 12 minutes walk from the Bratislava Main Train Station and about 10 minutes to Bratislava Old Town. 5 minutes walk to Presidential Palace. The breakfast had good variety of cold and hot food. Staff was friendly.

The perfect hotel for a stay in Bratislava. :) Every demand was met and there is nothing to criticise. Only about a minute away from the tramway and two stops from the city centre.
