My favorite was hiking around with my dog, we mostly went to Strednica. The restaurants are good (my favorite was Zdiaranka and Stone Art Gallery café to enjoy the view and have good coffee or a glass of wine), there are several shops to buy food as well. Zdiar is a beautiful town, perfect for skiing, hiking and relaxing! It has everything you need, the people are very friendly and helpful although it would be a good idea to learn some basic Slovak just to get you by. Waking up in the high tatras mountains in a sight to behold! Numerous restaurants line the main street and there is an amazing pizza restaurant that sells great drinks too, looks like a museum inside wall to wall with Slovakia history gathered by the owner it is called Pizzeria Rustika. The destination offers interesting possibilities, it is right in the High Tatras, so you can go anywhere. Especially in Ždiar, however, the great attraction is the cable car above Bachledova dolina and the Walk in the Treetops and an all-day experience.
