I recently stayed at SimPly Stay Fisherman’s Village, and it was a great experience overall. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the Fisherman’s Village and just steps from Bophut Beach. It’s perfect for anyone wanting to explore the local nightlife, restaurants, and markets without needing to travel far. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. The room had air conditioning and decent Wi-Fi. The bed was comfy. One highlight was how close it is to the beach, I could walk there in under a minute.

The location of this property is outstanding - beautiful views and pool. It’s a perfect place for couples to travel to unwind and relax by the pool. Breakfasts were really good (my husband and I are vegetarian and there was plenty to eat, they even have soy milk!).

When I first booked, there were only four reviews on the booking site, and they were all glowing. Add to this that the price seemed very attractive for a beachfront hotel and the photos of the property on the site, and I thought that maybe this was a fake hotel listing. But I risked it and booked a couple of nights. To badly misquote a famous line from Seinfeld, "It's real, and it's fabulous." Hugo arranged for a scooter to be here upon my arrival. They greeted me with a cold cloth (this was one of the comments that everyone was making and it felt super fake to me, but it's real!) to refresh myself upon arrival. Everything else about the check-in process was excellent. This really is beach-front. You walk off of the lower deck area (where there are tables and chairs and some beanbag chairs to recline on) right to the waterfront. It's just as good as the photos suggest. The upstairs terrace gives you a nice view over the water at sunset and is also a cool spot to watch thunderstorms come in. And you can't miss the beautiful view of the islands to the south. I liked this place so much, I have ended up staying here for nearly a whole month. To be honest, I'm only a couple of weeks in, but since my booking through booking has ended, I can now write the review that encourages you to trust what you see on the pics. The south shore of Samui is a quiet and chill place. This is not the place to stay if you're wanting to go out for active nightlife with your mates. There are good restaurants nearby (including the most excellent Smashburger that's directly attached to the hotel), but it's nothing like the selection you'll find up north, or even in Lamai. But if it's chill that you're after, or if you're volunteering at one of the dog rescues on the lower part of the island, this is a wonderful place to use as your retreat. I would absolutely stay here again.

    This is a great tourist destination.

    This is a great tourist destination. Glad we went during the low-season as it made for small, tolerable crowds. Plenty of activities and sights to do and see - we only brushed the surface with our short time there. Go for at least one week. Two would be better. The surrounding Gulf of Thailand offered lake-like calm, turquoise waters. Views everywhere are stunning. We Weill have to return again in the future. Highly recommend, especially the low-season.
