Great, long and clean beach. Sadly, the sea was too rough for swimming most of the time, but OK for splashing through the waves. It occasionally calmed down in the late afternoon/evening. This was in low season, so to be expected. A bit naughty, the sun bed vendors required the same price (100 Baht) irrespective of how long or short a time you wanted to use them. Kata is a lovely beach There are some expensive hotels that are directly fronting the beach and so their staff clean the beach each day. Beach chairs are available but not so many that they cannot be avoided if you just want to walk on the beach. At the time of year I was there the main activity was surfing at the southern end with many people taking lessons. It's a long beach, not too crowded, and quite clean.
It's a long beach, not too crowded, and quite clean. You can get a 2 chairs under the umbrella for 100 THB for the whole day, they even give you a hand broom to brush off the sand and a bottle of water. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious, the location was quiet but still central and within walking distance to Kata beach, Kata night market and plenty of food options. However, the highlight of our stay was the fact that we were so well taken care of by the owners. From providing a private tour to the cultural sights to our Phi Phi Island tour to arranging a taxi to the airport. We felt as if we were coming home to our parents at night haha.
