Super new, modern and stylish. All staff were very kind and helpful. Special shout out to reception and SPA (which was top notch btw). The room was very nice, quiet and spacious (comfy beds). Breakfast excellent - with so much choice! We loved that it’s new and not too many people have discovered this place yet! We have extended our stay in this resort :-)

Everything was fantastic. The suite was clean, modern and spacious. The pool being over 2km, there was always a close entry and from anywhere in the resort. The beach was great, waves are small but still allow for boogie boarding or surfing. Supplying free rental on surf boards, boogie boards, kayak and paddle boards is a bonus. Staff is attentive always going out of their way to make sure you are comfortable.

We are a young family of 4, there was plenty for our young kids to do, splash park was fabulous and the food at the pool bar (Mi Scusi) is decent. It was also nice to spend days at the other pool or beach. The gym is well equipped. The kids club offers many activities as well as playing with the toys, soft play and the arcades upstairs. You can sign your kids in and leave your mobile and if your child needs you they will whats app or call you. One of us stayed nearby most of the time. The service and standards at Avani + are outstanding, the staff and friendly and will go out of their way to help you. The rooms are clean and spacious, the bedding and beds are very comfortable, the shampoo, conditioner and body wash smell divine AND are good quality, especially after a day at the beach and pool, they wash and condition the hair very well. There is some great variety with the restaurants - elements, mi scusi, the beach house and also the burger van. The kids menu is great for those kids who like something a little more simple. The staff at reception are very helpful if you wish to go on excursions through them or just hire a driver on your own. Very impressed with our stay, would come again.

Everything here was perfect. Right from the host to rooms to the location to food and the hospitality of the hosts. The host there named Por was very very good. She made sure that all our needs are fulfilled and she made our stay very comfortable in khao lak. She helped us in everything from arranging good food for us specially we being pure vegetarian. The property provides free bicycles to go to nearby beach which is khuk khaak. The beach is just 3-5 minutes by bicycle. They also provide bikes on rent. Their breakfast is very very good and have lots of varieties. Por specially arranged vegetarian food in breakfast for us. Por even guided us where to go, which beaches are the best one's to visit. They also help you with arranging the best island tours. Now lets talk about the property. One of the best property in khao lak. The property has a good swimming pool, greenary all around, mountains on one side. The rooms are much bigger and spacious and very clean, comfortable beds, spacious bathroom and very clean. You get to hear nature calls in the morning, you dont need an alarm clock there are very sweet hens giving wake up call which feels very soothing in the morning and cheerful. We had a lovely time here in this resort i would recommend this property for staying if you are in khao lak. All the staff people including the host are very good. You get good food here, cutlery is provided whenever required. Best highlight of the place is the free bicycles they provide to visit nearby places. The property is very well located, nearby there are many beaches. Must visit place when in khao lak!!!

It was outside of the city roughly 15 min with taxi so very quiet place and few people at the beach. The workers there were always very helpful f.exs. had an issue with my ac one they when I told them they immediately ordered a technician and 1 hour after I told them he had already been there and fixed it. That's some absolutely super service

    If you want late nights, loud music and a party life, don’t go to Kho Lak. If you want rest and relaxation, great food and no crowds this is the place. Pick your time of year and the town seems deserted.

    Not as busy as Phuket, less people but lots of restaurants with reasonable prices. Very family orientated, no night clubs & pole dancing girly bars. Khao Lak is what Phuket was 30 years ago but is becoming more popular.

    If you want to hang around with far to many unwanted, Khao Lak is the place to go. It certainly focusing on tourists with bad taste from a special part of the world. There are a lot of nice places nearby if you just stay clear of central Khao Lak. The unwanted are sadly still to many.

    We have been to khao Lak 7 times now because we love it...

    We have been to khao Lak 7 times now because we love it so much. We have eaten in many different places , but the Orchid is our favourite restaurant. All of the eateries were very reasonably priced. Khao Lak is a very walkable resort and safer now there are two pedestrian crossings. We are older and some pavements have quite high steps down and up, but there are usually little ramps for less abled or children's buggies. There are plenty of mini marts to buy supplies and several pharmacies to get advice or medications if needed. Also plenty of little craft / souvenir shops. There are plenty of bank machines and several money exchange kiosks. Khao Lak is basically one very long main street with shops etc on both sides of the street. It is not a late night resort, the whole. Most restaurants are closed by 10p.m.

    The pools were lovely especially the swim-up bar and there were lots of activities to take part in (kayaking, cycling, boule, Muay Thai, water aerobics and fire shows etc). The breakfast choice was amazing particularly the egg bar. The staff were really helpful. Free shuttle bus into main area of Khao Lak at set times or readily available taxis all day/evening. Choice of restaurants within hotel and within easy walking distance. The beach was a short walk but worth it for the views of the coast.

    A true individual family run hotel, where you felt at home from the start. Ideal location directly on a quiet part of Khao Lak in a beautifully kept jungle, full of mature trees and exotic plants. The staff were engaging and forever helpful, and we ate most of our meals on the beach. Memorable and unusual in our bland resort world.

    We stayed at the Khao Lak Marriot on an opening deal and were incredible impressed to say the hotel hadn't even been open for a month. The staff were all superb and each restaurant offers something different. We loved the vast beach at the property and the adult only pool was a very welcomed amenity.

    Yes, the hotel is a bit rundown but nowhere near the point of being uncomfortable. In fact we don't agree with other reviews highlighting this aspect. The position is excellent and the green lush surroundings add to the amazing value for money. Would happily return if in Khao Lak again.
