Koh Tao is still one of the few raw escapes in Thailand in my opinion, its divers and back packers heaven. However as a father with 2 kids in my forties i absolutely loved it. If you step away from the busy areas and off the beaten track you can find amazing coves and hiden gems still. The tourism all over the world has killed so much of our wildlife and reefs. We loved Koh Tao.
We loved Koh Tao. Sairee beach is a great area but you can stay anywhere and still have access as it's such a small island. We took a boat trip out to the island for snorkelling which was fab. Don't book in advance. Go onto the beach and haggle with the locals to take you over as it works out so much cheaper especially if you are a family. Koh Tao is easy to get around with if you can ride a scooter...
Koh Tao is easy to get around with if you can ride a scooter. Most of the restaurant can make a delicious food and fresh. It would be a paradise for divers, plenty dive sites around and easy to get there with a cheap price. If you not diving, then hiking is a good choice as well. Loved koh Tao.
Loved koh Tao. Very small island with lots of nice locals and plenty of tourists who are mostly there as backpackers or scuba diving training. I was neither of these and was simple there for a vacation. Had a great time here! Best food options. Didn’t have anything bad! Location is also 10/10, in the mid of Sairee beach. The hotel has taxi boats for 300 baht round trip to Koh Nangyuan. Also free transfer to pier.
