Modern city. A bit chaotic but nice energy and friendly people. The bazaar area is huge. The sad part is that there is not a lot of historic buildings or areas. There is some - but not really a lot, which makes it doubtful to stay more than just a couple of days. If you are not really interested in the cuisine of course. Do NOT miss the mosaic museum. Gaziantep is the gastronomic capital of Turkiye, and it totally deserves this title. All the places I visited were tasty, and all food was worth the try. The prices are affordable, the locals are helpful, the city is full of history and specific viber. It is a great city with amazing food.
It is a great city with amazing food. The problem is almost no one speaks anything other than Turkish. I know very basic Turkish to get around, but it was difficult. There wasn't anyone to guide you where to go, if we did not know the places we want to go to, we would not have any information. We stayed for 2 and half days.
