A beautiful city, I think 3 or 4 days is enough to visit. A variety of food and prices. Unconventional views and lots of light at night. Fun activities you can't miss, like hot air ballooning or horseback riding. I recommend getting a quote well in advance of each activity, as prices vary widely from one company to another. In my case, I did all the activities through Booking.com, and it was much cheaper than paying there. Example prices in August: A hot air balloon flight there cost me 180 euros; on Booking.com it cost me 130. Horseback riding there cost me between 45 and 70 euros; on Booking.com it cost me 23. Goreme is very busy with visitors, however it is very worthwhile visiting for the balloon trips which are spectacular and incredibly well organised and also the very interesting hiking close to Goreme and further afield.
