Great castle and museum - with amazing Roman artifacts and a splendid view from the battlements. The undercover market was huge and cool in the heat. The water show at 21:00 each evening was excellent Easy to get about on small buses cost 50p for entire journey. The older part of the town has some decent restaurants and shopping. The new quarters to the west are tourist "industry" purely. To the west is a smaller place called Icmeler, which is more cosy and less expensive. Some of the better resorts can be found there. Marmaris bay is a lovely setting, but very noisy during the daytime, because of the many people killing their time with motorized activities.. The rooms were spotless, and the staff were incredibly helpful. A lovely gentleman welcomed us at the hotel and even entertained our little one while we had breakfast. The breakfast spread was delicious, with a fantastic range of cold meats and fruits. The pool was lovely, and our 2-year-old enjoyed it immensely. The beach is just a 5-minute walk away. This hotel is situated in a fabulous location with supermarkets and restaurants nearby and away from all the noise from nightclubs.
