We had the BEST room in the property. The room was large and had everything needed (tea, coffee, fridge, water, toiletries). The in room pool was heaven and we spent a lot of time relaxing in it. The staff and very helpful and friendly and arranged a shuttle service and balloon ride excursion. There's a local takeaway service bringing food to your door which was delicious as was the plentiful breakfast from the property. Highly recommend for a treat/romantic break for any couple to just get away from it all.

it’s a fabulous property with very spacious family rooms and wonderful views overlooking the Ortahisar Town and Castle. the staff is extremely helpful and Co-operative. They went out of the way to make our stay memorable and organise our tours in and around Cappadocia. A big thank you to Barfin for organising our hot air balloon trip in extremely short notice and for organising our Car with Tahir (extremely patient and happy gentleman). Thank you Mr Murad (owner of the place) for personally welcoming up on our arrival and guiding us during our stay.

A Fantastic Experience!!! We loved our stay here, everything from the exquisite cave interior to the lovely warm friendly owners! Our Cave room was exceptional both in decor and facitlities. The location is perfect for a quieter, more authentic cappadocian village experience away from the crowds, the main attractions still close by with some great Restaurants located near by too. Easily the best accomodation we had on our 6 week holiday and I would love to stay again!!!

We visited a lot of beautiful hotels and B&B’s around the world, but Ahmet’s Potamia Cave Suites was undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places we ever stayed in! The hotel is beautiful situated in the valley of Ortahisar, a cosy town close to all the Cappadocia highlights. The enormous terrashouse really looks like paradise. Ahmet did the most wonderful job decorating the place even in the smallest details. The rooms are spacious, clean, luxurious and one of a kind. Large and comfortable beds, lovely bathroom with a very large shower. Because the hotel is overlooking the valley, it is extremely quiet at night. The breakfast is either served in a buffet or, when it’s more quiet in the hotel, at one of the many tables on one of the many beautiful terraces at your choice. Daily fresh produce and lovely Turkish delights. Just amazing! (A very big plus for us: breakfast is served until 11h00) Last but certainly not least: Ahmet is by far the friendliest and knowledgeable host we met during our trip through Turkey. He knows everyone and everything there is to know to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Always a smile on his face and ready to take care of his guests. The hardest working guy in showbizz :) Ahmet, many thanks to you and your staff for making our visit to Ortahisar unforgettable!

I recently stayed at a new hotel located in a quiet area. The hotel has been built and decorated in an authentic style, adding to a pleasant atmosphere. A good night's sleep is essential to me, and thankfully, this was achievable here due to the peaceful environment. The room and bathroom were spacious, with a jacuzzi available. The room and bathroom were tidy and clean, something I always appreciate. The option of free parking at the hotel was an added advantage. The staff were friendly and helpful. They arranged enjoyable sightseeing tours and hot air balloon rides for us at reasonable prices. We also enjoyed breakfast on the terrace, which offered a nice view. I would recommend a stay at this hotel due to the good service, the pleasant atmosphere, and the neat rooms. I believe you will not regret this.

Beautiful place, just like the picture. We stayed in the cave room 204, it was a beautiful experience. Around 6-7 am you can see a lot of the hot air balloons. But is you want to full experience, go to kizilcukur vadisi around that time.

I want to share with my best hotel experience. Even though I have a quite extensive traveling background, “Serenus Cave Suits” in Cappadocia is going to occupy the top place in my list of hotels. I stayed there for a few days. I came here to change the usual pattern of my birthday celebration and it was worth it. Stepping through the gates of the hotel, I was immediately fascinated by the beautiful and incredible view of the building enclosed in the mountain. This is a kind of family hotel, and as the owner told me, it took a lot of time to transform and renovate the family nest into the hotel. The owners made the design of the place using their own imagination and you feel it because even a tiny space was made with great love and care of the guests. The staff throughout the hotel were very professional, friendly, and extremely helpful. They always greeted and smiled at us making our stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfasts in the style of “Turkish breakfast” were amazing and the dinner the staff organized for my birthday was delicious and healthy. To make my day they presented me a cake we shared with the owners and some staff members. We talked, drank nice Turkish tea and I had the feeling of being at home with my family and friends. The location of the hotel is great and from my window, there was a fantastic view. My room was not only perfectly decorated and super cozy but well equipped with all essentials and a Turkish bath. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for tourists who want to feel at the hotel as they are at home. I wish to come to this place again!!!

    Ortahisar is a beautiful little town.

    Ortahisar is a beautiful little town. It’s quite quiet but a short taxi ride into slightly busier Goreme. I’m glad we stayed in Ortahisar though as it was much more relaxing and quaint. Hisarönü Restaurant was our favourite place to eat - fantastic food, lovely Cappadocian wine and shisha. We even got given a free slice of cake as it was the owners birthday. Highly recommend!

    Ortahisar is a small and cosy city, with a good mix of tourists and locals. There are several nice hotels, good restaurants, the castle, a panoramic view, and you can see the balloons in the morning. The city is calm and has good prices compared with the nearby city of Göreme. I recommend Ortahisar as a destination when visiting Cappadocia.

    Ortahisar is a lovely town about 15minure drive away from the hustle and bustle of Goreme - I’m so glad we stayed here. All the tour companies will pick up from the hotel so it’s no hassle if you don’t have a car.

    Ortahisar is a village still undergoing "renovation" and less frequented compared to neighboring villages like Göreme, Uçhisar, and Ügrüp, which are decidedly more "charming." Nonetheless, it's an excellent accommodation option and serves as a starting point for exploring Cappadocia, especially if you have your own car for getting around.

    Its less touristy than Goreme.

    Its less touristy than Goreme. Also it is closer to the Keyseri airport. Nearby towns like Urgup are better and cheaper for shopping and eating although Goreme is not very far. If you want Indian, Korean, or American fast food Goreme is the place though. Ortahisar is quieter than Goreme.

    This is a town that is close to all the main sights in...

    This is a town that is close to all the main sights in Cappadocia (about 10 minutes' driving) but has still not become too touristy. If you want a more authentic experience of Cappadocia, go here. If you prefer to have restaurants and cafes with staff who speak fluent English and shops selling souvenirs and carpets, you are better off going to Goreme or Uchisar. To us, Goreme is too commerical so we hope Ortahisar maintains its "local" feel. The town is quite small and has a quaint castle that is like a miniature version of the more famous Uchisar castle, which you can climb to get a good view of the area. Everyone is very friendly and tries very hard to make you feel welcome, even when you don't share a common language. You can eat at Beey Kebap and Hisaronu in the main square - they don't look fancy but the food is good and honest. You can have tea with a view of the hills also by the square at Cafe Ali'nin Yeri. And don't miss the wine cave just next to the castle entrance, called Kalesi restorant where you can try local wines including some that are mixed with fruit juice. There is a market on some days of the week on the corner of Ali Kayacan Cd. and Hibe Dede Cd., and a small bakery called Seten Pide Firini where you can get fresh pide (Turkish pizza). The town is still very cheap compared to Goreme and Uchisar. You don't need a car to get around since it's quite small and easily walkable.
