Urgup is small town but has a lot of very nice local restaurants, no chains!! A number of small shops selling local produce and the usual souvenir shops. We planned for 3 days to give us a better chance of flying in hot air balloon. We got to fly on our first morning, so we had 3 full days to fill in. We did a quite a bit of hiking with our 2 kids (8 & 11) which was awesome, plenty of land and caves to explore. We liked that you could just wander and explore once you parked up. 3 days was a bit too long for us but we don't like to pay for many things, so we ran out of free things to do quickly. Not really happy that you have to pay for parking everywhere, even at the hikes and lookout spots! Nice and lively town in Cappadocia.
Nice and lively town in Cappadocia. Compared to Goreme it is a bit further away from the main attractions in the area, but most tours offered pick-up services from our hotel anyways, so it did not impact us too much. Getting around the area is quite easy, with taxi and bus options available. Food-wise, trying the testi kebab is a must and a specialty of the area. There’s is so much to do in this part of the world. It’s so u inquest that you will need at least a week to see it all. We did the hot air balloons over the fairytale landscape, horse riding, atv, jeep safari and visiting the underground cities. The town is quiet yet there is a variety of restaurants and cafes for all budgets. We were not disappointed by any of our restaurant choices and the service was good. There is an authentic Art Cafe where they serve the most delicious Gozleme. The views are stunning and it is possible get close up to the caves and rock formations.Guest review byAnonymous

When you draw the curtains it suddenly becomes a perfect sleeping heaven. Also the shower was quite nice and warm. The location is pretty close to the city urgup. You can go eat or visit the city for 10minutes of walking. The last but not least, the breakfast was amazing. I am Turkish, and I would call the breakfast there a wonderful example for our culture. 10/10 would stay there again.
