A spectacular location, close to the forest, with the opportunity to walk along nice paths surrounded by beautiful trees. The room was absolutely fine, while the hot spring was a bonus. Breakfast was mainly local style, but we were okay with that. On the whole wonderful for those who love nature

My gf and I have stayed at The Bear on multiple occasions to visit her family and each time we are blown away at how incredibly friendly and helpful the staff is to us. They go out of their way to make your stay great and have always helped us keep luggage there safely as we travelled to other parts of Taiwan. Invaluable to us so that we can go to other areas without having to take massive amounts of luggage with total peace of mind that all is 100% safely looked after. The hotel staff provide excellent service. Stacey at the front desk (I hope I got the name right) was especially attentive, with a great understanding of the needs of solo travellers—very thoughtful indeed. The hotel's location is fantastic. There is a convenience store just downstairs, several large shopping centres nearby, and it is very close to Fuzhong. Everything you need is just a few minutes' walk away, so there’s no need to go all the way to Taipei. The bed of excellent quality, and both the toilet and bathroom are spotlessly clean. If you are travelling from Taoyuan Airport to the hotel, I suggest taking the Airport MRT to A3 – New Taipei Industrial Park, then transferring to the Circular Line to Banqiao.
