I loved the hostal, and it is like being in a charming house in the mountains. Also, the landlady was very friendly with us, very accessible with some favor we asked. For sure I will be there again soon, when I want to escape from the noisy city.

Very friendly and helpful host. Nice, modern and large room - and the whole hotel. The breakfast was very tasty. I used B&B as a base for exploration of surounding sights. Host helped to improved my travel plans, gave a lot of tips and advice. Location is a little bit out of city centrum, so better to have a car.

    My wife and I like to walk and this is a great place for...

    My wife and I like to walk and this is a great place for that with the Twin Peaks trail nearby (and nice coffee shop) and other trails. We also loved the fact that there is a bustling daily local market where we could buy breakfast and fresh produce and bakery items to prepare at the homestay in the evening. The local people are absolutely lovely, but at the risk of perhaps stating the obvious, if you're not a native Chinese speaker take a phrase book as no-one speaks English. It's not necessary to have a car as there is a reasonably priced local taxi service operating from the station and a good train service to go to nearby locations for visits and walks. Although the homestay was only 2km from the town centre, and we like walking, the 130 NTD spent on a one way journey up the hill back to the homestay was in our eyes money well spent. Tongluo is a lovely place and very relaxing. We like it very much.
