United StatesThe hotel's siting alone is worth the visit. Its position overlooking the roaring source of the White Nile is frankly unforgettable, as is the drive through a national park, to get there. The property's social spaces are well-placed; the staff is incredibly accommodating; and the spectacle of watching hippos languish, boar forage, and all manner of Nile critters scamper, is unlike any other place. Lastly, the high level of polish, within the larger Ugandan context (we traveled the entire country, border to border, twice) made it feel extra luxe.
