The town has died from days gone by, when the railroad and oil refinery was going strong. Overall the town of Arkansas City has gone down hill badly. Many former business has closed. Many Down town stores are closed only maybe one decent restaurant in town is open but the hours they are open is very limited. It can't all be blamed on covid. Ark City died long before Covid-19 existed. Ark City is my home town. Back in the 1960's when I lived their, Ark City was a very busy town with a lot going for it. Every store front downtown was always open for business. Many restaurants were open, at least one resturant along with a couple service stations were open 24/7. The town has died. I blame it on poor City management. But could be wrong. They use to call it little Chicago, it's gone by the wayside like it's nickname, namesake.Guest review byBilly
