I would have liked to stay longer as I love historical aspects of my surroundings. The fact that Artesia is proud of its oil and gas history is interesting. The tribute paid to the men and women who did this work is exemplary….. I was impressed with Artesia.Guest review byLanceUnited States - 4.0

Pros: very friendly staff; good amenities for the price; breakfast ok; microwave in room plus fridge Cons: smell of gasoline in room plus hotel on second night forced us to move to a different room in the middle of the night. Hotel is opposite a fuel refinery (see Google Maps). Conclusion: I would not stay there again because of the fuel smell. In every interaction here they went above and beyond. The pool was out of action, but, for a change, there were actually people working on it, as opposed to other hotels that just put up a closed sign.
