My partner and I stayed for 3 wonderful nights whilst attending our sons graduation at the nearby Young Harris College. Having travelled from England we arrived late at night to be greeted by Garrett who was friendly and informative, this I now understand to be the wonderful Southern hospitality everyone mentions which we also experienced from all the reception & Oaks staff, especially the 2 lovely ladies who served us breakfast. (Sorry we didn't get to see you on our last day, we slept in late then had to rush off) Our room was spacious & comfortable, I didn't use the AC as I find it plays havoc with my breathing so opted for the large ceiling fan which was ample for our needs. The bed was so huge you need a sat nav to move around it :) We met a lovely couple in the Oaks bar who mentioned to us that the building will be going through a makeover which is possibly well needed however I had no complaints to make about the decor. We spent quite a lot of time in the gardens and on the pier with beautiful views of the mountains & lake. Overall we had an excellent stay which was possibly one of the finest of my 57 years on this Earth.

Our camper lost power so we quickly had to find a place to stay in town. We could not beat the price of this place! It has a nice cozy cabin feel, comfortable bed, very clean, wifi and smart tv. Exceeded our expectations!

Great location with a view of the marina/cove. The room was spacious with a large jacuzzi tub! We didn't use them but kayaks are included. Will stay again!

    Blairsville is a beautiful little town surrounded by...

    Blairsville is a beautiful little town surrounded by mountains and very friendly people. The bookstore and Hemlock Trading Company were 2 of our favorite stores. The Hole in the Wall had a wonderful breakfast and we enjoyed the Seafood Festival very much!

    Up until a few years ago, I was rating it perfect.

    Up until a few years ago, I was rating it perfect. It's not so now. Prices are going uphill and quality vanishing, little by little every time we visit. Traffic is nor a problem, but it's getting there. With a constant flow of Atlanta weekend spenders, most restaurants are becoming more and more expensive (in price) and cheap (in quality). It seems that very soon it will be no more than a tourist / visitors destination, because of the location close to Atlanta and the lakes, and the great scenery. So Nature did it's part, now it's up to us, humans, to appreciate and maintain it. Footnote: Meeks Park and Meeks Park II is, to me and my wife, the best park area we have ever been in, with enough human interference so it's easy and convenient, and at the same time respectful to the Creator. I keep my fingers crossed that future generations will not mess up with it, by doing more than necessary maintenance work.

    Everyone we met was so friendly and loved living in the area. The downtown is nice and easy to walk around. Free parking and nice public restrooms. There was no traffic anywhere to speak of even on Hwy 76. The pace is much slower than Florida, and many of the people we met actually moved from FL, so we got a lot of info about relocating to the area. Our only issue is the steep and windy, curvy roads in the mountains that scared the heck out of us. Meeks Park was beautiful and we can't wait to explore rhe other State parks and falls nearby.

    We were a group of six and we love Blairsville. We were there during sorghum festival. Love the steel drums and parade. We also did concert on in the courthouse. Love hole in the wall restaurant. We enjoyed this town very music.

    In one word: Expensive.

    In one word: Expensive. It used to be my regular getaway, but especially restaurants and taxes and fees are going uncomfortably up. Better book a cabin in the county and cook in. On a "middle class" restaurant parking lot, there were in a row two Mercedes, one Porsche, one Maserati and one Lexus. The town being built in the mountains and around the lakes, it attracts much of the big Atlanta (less than 100 miles away) money, with many big and luxurious weekend homes (=mansions, to most) and expensive boats. The city itself is clean with a very beautiful small downtown historic area. Meeks Park is a gem.

    I loved how beautiful Blairsville was. The landscape and the incredible views wherever you looked was amazing and unforgettable. The tiny home we stayed at was great. The location has 2 beds on the top and we felt like 2 kids getting in and out of kids.

    I do a lot of traveling and visits a lot of hotels. The room I got for this trip was way better than any of the rooms I've been in, very modern looking. The price was a little higher than most but a good room for the money.
