Varied selection of coffee shops, bars and restaurants. Trader Joe's for all self-catering needs. You can walk to JFK's birthplace and tour his family home which was fascinating. Area feels very safe, good for strolling around and seeing distinctive, historic architecture - Dutch House was a highlight. Public transport into the city (tram) very easy. 10 minute walking distance to Brigham and Women's Hospital from this Inn. Lots of places to eat nearby. Getting to the Green Line is easy. The Museum of Art is one stop away. Since I've been coming here for years, I've seen a lot of the area. There is something for everyone. Be sure to go to the top of the Prudential Building. Food, drinks, view and staff are great. Brookline is a well-to-do, leafy suburb of Boston. I don't know that you'd go there just for Brookline itself; but it was a great base for a 10-day work visit where most of my engagements were on the western side of the Boston city centre. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Good having bed and breakfast. Breakfasts were adequate. It was a 40min walk into the historic and shopping areas and the train stop was a 2min walk away. About 10min walk to great Italian restaurant 'Bar'cino. And good Mexican in other direction Los Amigos. Very nice little park and lovely suburb to walk around. The area is also absolutely lovely with some cute houses around - we even saw a wild turkey roaming the grounds of a nearby building. The hotel itself is cosy, we love places that look old but well kept and Longwood really is! The room was cosy and a good size for us, the bathroom was clean and well serviced. Despite located in Brookline the connection to Harvard and MIT was well reachable by bicycle. Blue bike station nearby. Overall a good option for a much better price than downtown Boston with a good connection. Overall everything works very well and it fulfills all needs for a stay including a microwave and coffee.
