we have visies quite some motels in the USA, Yardarm was the most pleasant place. We could truly feel the good atmosphere in yardarm. the beds were a bit too soft, but others might love this. We coincidently forgot a purse in the motel and had not noticed, the owner phoned us, and even shipped the purse to The Netherlands. We are very thankful for his extreme friendlyness , beyond expectations!!!

Bucksport is a strategically located town at the northern end of the Penobscot Bay and bridge, but lacks the charm of other nearby towns, like Castine and Blue Hill. It does have the only fast food options in the area.

The river walk is beautiful! You can walk the path in either direction and come out to a store or a nice restaurant. The two restaurants where I ate were great but my favorite was Warren's. The food was fantastic and the wait staff was very friendly and efficient.

nice little city from maine with nice walk in front of the lake nice fort nice bridge boats and close enough to acadia national park to go there daily but pay not inflationed prices in local shops, supermarket etc very different from if you try to do it from inside the park or bar harbor area which is much more expensive and less genuine in terms of what is like to live in Maine

    Great location for trips.

Great location for trips. Approximately one hour to Acadia/Bar Harbor. Just across the river from the fort and a 42 foot elevator ride to an observation area at top of the bridge. Just up the rtoad on Hwy. 46 a comfortable lobster shack.

Bucksport is only a hop away from some very nice areas, staying in Bucksport is nice because it allows you to get out of the hype of everything, but still close enough to drive back and forth. Fort Knox was awesome though and well worth checking out, as well as the tower.

Family from NC, ME, VA, CO, CT and LA shared the house together with plenty of room for everyone! The backyard was beautiful with a playset perfect for the 3-year-old in the group. Plenty of kitchen accoutrement led to many cooks and great meals at the large dining room table. It was a great location with easy driving access to the riverwalk, downtown Bucksport and the middle school where our Uncle's Celebration of Life was held. Our host was very pleasant and extremely responsive!

Very nicely redone hotel and rooms. Friendly personnel. Nice barbecue/picnic area in the back. The owner could think of investing in a laundry room, that would be a plus.
