Not a far drive to Lake Superior and beaches.

Not a far drive to Lake Superior and beaches. Good roads for being off the beaten path. On the edge of a tiny 4 corner, rural town but close to the larger tourist towns along Lake Superior. Chatam has a family dairy queen and a small coffee shop/mom and pop restaurant. We ate at the Brownstone Inn on a highway along the lake about 12 miles from Chatam. About 18 miles to the Pictured Rocks on Lake Superior in Munising, a main Michigan tourist attraction. About 30 miles from Marquette Mi. on Lake Superior, also a main tourist attraction city. Getting around is very easy. We are not a young couple. For any couple, hiking to numerous waterfalls. Boat tours. Swimming. Hunting Lake Superior agates. Hunting glow rocks at night on L.S. with black lights. Fishing. Endless variety for outdoor lovers.

We didn’t do much exploring in Chatham but we did visit the little grocery/ convenience store. The people were friendly and even the neighbors of the store were friendly. I only wish I would’ve tried the ice cream across the street from the store.

Chatham is a small town near Munising.

Chatham is a small town near Munising. I stayed during a snow storm and didn't want to travel far. There is a co-op store with everything you need. I spent most of my weekend in the Chatham Pub. The atmosphere was very friendly, clean, and the food is decent. I had a very good time snowed in a very small town.

I was not familiar with the area and was a bit concerned about being so secluded but this place was the best hotel I have ever stayed in! I felt very safe. It was clean, spacious and so quiet. Management were so friendly and accommodating they made you feel at home.

very clean and comfortable room in a quiet area. went to visit Pictured Rocks and this amazing little Motel is a short 15-20 minute drive away. There is a Pub and small grocery store just down the street for dinner and supplies.

This little hotel is a gem. You can pay hundreds of dollars more and not be anywhere close to the cleanliness, comfort, and I can’t say enough about the management. Good people!!

Village Inn is a throwback to the roadside motel with updated features. The room was spotless, the communication clear, and the staff professional and courteous.
