Great city and area for tourism! Impressive architecture (both modern and Art Deco) and great art! We particularly liked the Diego Rivera mural at the DIA and the Fisher and Guardian buildings, as well as the Henry Ford Museum and Cranbrook. Some excellent restaurants - we enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Selden Standard. Also enjoyed the river walk and walking and swimming at Belle Isle, as well as the “scrappy” lively and witty folk-art installations and murals scattered about the city.Guest review byDanielUnited States - 10.0
I really enjoyed Detroit's downtown.
I really enjoyed Detroit's downtown. It's a rebuild going on in Detroit. There is so much history. I hated to leave so soon. I was able to go to Comerica Park and the Little Caesars Arena while in town. I was there for the Claressa Shields' boxing match. The people of Detroit had great energy.Guest review byArlanda - 10.0

My stay was just in the downtown area. I was there for a work convention and stayed in the local area the whole time. Huntington Place is a great convention center, and the convention was a great success. There are some nice places to grab a quick bite and all within safe and walking distance. Also a visit of the Heidelberg Project is worthwhile (one street of "street art" in a neighborhood that deserves more attention). It was cold!! We went in January so that is expected. The ride from the airport was about 30 minutes by ride share. There was a car show a few 100 feet from the hotel we stayed at, and although it was kind of basic for being in the Motor City, it was still a good car show. I do love that Detroit is in a Renaissance because it is a beautiful city with magnificent architecture. The people we met from Detroit were mostly friendly and welcoming. We attended a Lions game and were there supporting the opposing team. There were no issues and it even made for a great conversation starter. I'd go back!!Guest review byLisaUnited States - 10.0
If you love New York City but are a little tired of the...
If you love New York City but are a little tired of the swarming tourists and insane traffic, visit Detroit. Downtown is wonderful, with great shops and restaurants, a vibrant street scene with pedestrians and musicians, world class museums, and amazing architecture. The DAX express bus from the airport stops at a few meters from the building. (I paid $6 instead of over $100 for an Uber). Prior to my arrival Sonder´s staff provided me clear information on how to take the bus. The cleaning staff smiled at me.
