Over 6 weeks ago I sent TWO complaints about our stay in Freeport, ME, but I never even got a reply. Our stay was terrible! There were no drapes on the window and at nightfall a bright blue architectural light mounted outside, right next to the window, came on casting a very bright blue glow into the room all night! As for calling the desk, the phone wasn’t working properly and I wasn’t going downstairs in my nightgown. Plus the chargers next to the bed were too old to accommodate recent technology. Those are the highlights of our stay, and to not even get a response after notifying them TWICE is beyond unacceptable! I always thought Holiday Inn was synonymous with quality, and was willingly to pay a bit more, but unfortunately that is obviously no longer the case. My advice going forward, look elsewhere!

The check in process was unfriendly.

The check in process was unfriendly. Pool is closed, that is the reason I booked this hotel. There were many ants in my room, left a cracker out and it was covered with ants within 20 minutes. I told the front desk and she didn't seem surprised and didn't apologize. Actually there was no comment at all when i told her.

Definitely needs to have someone from Choice Hotels or Booking. Com to make a surprise visit. We have stayed there before at least 3 or 4 times and loved this place. I did notice the Check-in had different personal. Computer was down. I could go on and on about this recent stay At the Ascend Hotel Freeport , Maine.

we first went to Freeport in the 1980s.

we first went to Freeport in the 1980s. Loved the chance to shop and get some deals on locally made articles at a number of stores. As more of the items were made out of the country the deals kind of slowly ended and when the big mall opened and the pandemic hit, many of the stores we liked best moved. Now the LL Bean Outlet has the exact same items as the one in Ellsworth, a much smaller collection of items. otherwise there is little reason to visit anymore for more than a few hours.

The Casco Bay Inn was our lodging choice based on value from other reviews. We got the value we’d hoped for. The outlet stores and food options were all great and we had a fantastic time. We were there in April 2024. We enjoyed the early season benefits of low traffic volume, easy parking and uncrowded sidewalks. And while some seasonal businesses were closed there were plenty of opportunities to eat and shop.

We always beeline for the Maine Idyll as our vacation doesn't truly begin until we get to this wonderful spot. The facilities , here, match exactly the pace that we set for our vacations in Maine. We stay at the Idyll every time we pass through the Freeport area. The rustic cabins each have a little fireplace and are always immaculately kept. The location, on Rt 1, just north of Freeport is the perfect spot to get off the interstate and start exploring the magnificent Maine Coast!

The H. Inn is in a Great Location. An EASY Walk in to Freeport Shops! Room 109 had a bath/shower that was TOOO Hard for me to use... so we were Quickly Shifted to the Lovely 221 that had a bath/shower that was Much Easier to get in to. THANKS!! The Buffet Breakfast was Also GREAT. Great Service....and a HUGE Variety to Choose From.. The Manager at the Broad Arrow Tavern Bar REMOVED our Food Cost on Mon. night because of our Problem with Sun. night's Dinner. Much Appreciated!!

The hotel is just outside of Freeport close to the town center, a shopping mall, and some cool breweries. The room was good with good WiFi coverage. The complimentary breakfast was excellent.
