Rough Cut Lodge is a gem. Room was immaculate, comfortable and well appointed. Barbecues available for grilling. Location cannot be beat. Beautiful beautiful large property right on the creek. The Rough Cut Lodge is the perfect place to stay if you are...
The Rough Cut Lodge is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting Cherry Springs State Park (star gazing) to the west, and/or visiting the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, to the east. Gaines, PA is a small place just a half hour west of Wellsboro, but it has a school, a sub shop, several restaurants, a gas station, and grocery store! The roads were well-maintained, which was a plus for our wintertime weekend getaway! The people we met were friendly and welcomed our furry friend, too! Rough Cut Lodge cabin rentals and Gaines, PA are "lucky to have each other" (a kind of symbiosis). I look forward to making the trip again, in the Fall, but will not forget this winter wonderland experience!Guest review byHill - 8.0
Very close to the PA Grand Canyon. Traffic was very light.
Very close to the PA Grand Canyon. Traffic was very light. Ate about 2 miles down the road at the Log Cabin Inn definitely recommend. Loved going to Wellsboro and shopping. Had breakfast there at the Wellsboro Diner very good. Took a trip up to see Mansfield University I would skip this if I had to do it again.Guest review byLeonardUnited States
