Haines City is a small suburban community in Florida.
Haines City is a small suburban community in Florida. Our luxury vacation home was extremely beautiful in the safe gated golf community of Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club. The only draw back is the distance from Orlando attractions such as Disney. Traffic is grid-lock and takes just over an hour to reach Disney. However, a positive is that Legoland is quite close (25 mins by car) for kids to enjoy. As well, the personal pool is quite a highlight for children to daily enjoy. The use of my relative's community pool was excellent, very well kept. Restaurants and stores were readily available. Florida drivers can be terrible and rude to those with an out-of-state license plate, but navigating the city went well. It was a nice place to visit. It was just right after that hurricane Ian. But it was stil up and running so I give it An A for legoland being opened when we arrived. It would have probably been a great place to visit before the hurricane hit.
