It was clean, friendly staff, great location! The Hotel has character, which you don’t find in most hotels anymore! You have to pay to park on the street or down below at the train station parking lot ($15 a day). You could hear the trains, but I’m a really light sleeper, and it was only a couple times, not a big deal at all. I highly recommend this place and would stay again for sure.

I liked everything about Horsefeathers. It is obvious that the owners/managers have put a great deal of time and energy into this property. The kitchen satisfies even picky chefs like me and the king bed was extraordinarily comfortable. Chris, the manager, is outstanding.

Clean room. Very close to restaurants and grocery so we could stock up on food supplies for our road trip. Room didn't have a clear view of Hood River, but was just a short drive away from the waterfront park where you can catch a perfect sunset!

Great little town that I need to return to! I was in town for a wedding and wished I had been able to stay an extra day or two - even in the middle of prime tourist season! Really enjoyed driving outside of town to visit orchards - would love to return in the fall!

We were en route else where but we wished we could have spent more time in Hood River, even though we'd been there for a brief visit once before. Seems to be many good places to eat for a town that size and the opportunity to dine looking out over the river was a special treat after a long day's drive. There are endless hiking opportunities, for every hiking ability, all around the area. In summer there are many other activities on the river. Everyone we encountered was bright and friendly. Really nice people!

Vibrant atmosphere and lots of great eateries, breweries, etc. Also close to great hiking, scenic drives and other attractions like the Bonneville Dam. Really liked the History Museum of Hood River County. However, Hood River is also very "touristy" and pricey in my opinion.

If you like the outdoors, this is a fantastic place. So many nearby outdoor things to do. Take a walk on the Pipeline trail which is on top of a real pipeline, along the river, in the woods. Go down to the waterfront area where there are breweries, coffee shops and a great atmosphere. The people are very friendly. We were only there for a few days so it's hard to make a definitive review, but we had a great time there.

Hood River is a good central location for exploring the Columbia gorge. One day we spent exploring the falls and visited crown point Vista House. The next day we visited the Western antique airplane and automobile museum and hung around downtown for coffee. Lots of good restaurants to choose from. Lots of little shops for shopping. It's a beautiful situation because you have Mount Hood to the South and Mount Adams to the north on the Washington side. We love coming to Hood River anytime of the year. Can't wait for the fruit loop in the fall.

The only thing I am not crazy about has nothing to do with what anyone can control. It can be a bit windy and cold at times , but that is the Gorge. You really can't have such beauty without a bit of rugged weather. It is a bit hilly getting around when walking, and if you have any mobility issues it can be hard. I pulled my hamstring a week before we were in Hood river and it was good for me to walk and stretch, but you might have some fatigue set in sooner than usual if walking a great deal. Overall it was wonderful.
