This is a very small community, with several restaurants.
This is a very small community, with several restaurants. The community has passed its glorious days, and it is kind of deserted. If you are looking for a quiet and a non-fancy location, it is a good place to relax and if you like water and water activities. Otherwise, it is a very boring location. The worst part of the trip is getting there. Unless you route yourself with an additional 30mi. to 50 mi. longer, you will have to go through very windy and difficult roads to get to the lake. Well, I could say the same thing to some of the mountainous locations. So this is for FYI only.Guest review byEdmund - 10.0
I've lived in Lake County and go back frequently.
I've lived in Lake County and go back frequently. The area is depressed but beautiful. Hot in summer, but plenty of places to enjoy the lake and the shade such as the state and county parks on Soda Bay Road. Shower curtains were nasty. The Front desk guy, perhaps the mansger/owner, barely spoke english and came across as rude Just 6 cars in the parking lot on a Sat night, looked like low occupancy. This place is clean, lowkey and friendly. And extremely safe!! We left the key in our door overnight, we're old!, and nothing suspicious ever happened.
