I've been going to Lake George since I was a child and have brought my children to Lake George. We hadn't been back in 16 years, but finally had the opportunity to revisit it and it was wonderful for my daughter and I. We had a great time overall.
We had a great time overall. Prospect Mountain park was disappointing though. We heard the views were great, however most of the views from the scenic overlooks, 2 of 4 ,were obscured by trees. I recommend Lake George because it’s beautiful and rich in history. There’s plenty to do—whether you’re visiting with family or going solo. I love the restaurants, which offer excellent service, delicious food, and plenty of variety. My favorite part was going to different ice cream shops because there’s so many of them! A lot of attractions, awesome scenery, there's a band of not two usually every evening in town (free). The people there are always friendly, lots of dining or quick eats, plenty of "club life" if that's your bag, many options for day trips, examples, Fort Ticonderoga, Albany and the capital district, a quick jaunt to Vermont, Fulton Chain of lakes. Hostess very pleasant and helpful. We had a Queen Room, which was a decent size, and as illustrated by the photos. The bed was comfortable and the A/C worked well during the 95-degree heatwave.
