I hadn't been there since 1992, when I was younger and had good knees. I was so thankful for their Accessibility Tour. Thanks for thinking of us old folks, or others with special needs who can't maneuver all those miles of walking and so many steps. The younger ones in the family went on other tours, so I will have tons of photos. The caverns are GORGEOUS, and the rangers are so very helpful. Oh, and since our tour finished right at lunch time, we ate at The Lodge. Ooh, that was so good!

    Magnificent!

Magnificent! We were only able to sign up for two tours but what we saw was so incredible. The visitor's center was very interesting and had a lot of look at about the caves if you had to wait for your tour. The bathrooms were clean and big. All of the rangers and people working at the visitor's center and the ones giving the tours were very knowledgeable and nice. I was very happy to see them there! With all of the cuts being made to our National Parks, I've been worried about these hardworking people losing their important jobs. These were a few of the people I would like to thank: Moria at the customer service counter; Ranger Jarvis; Ranger Christopher Hansen, who was whittling spoons and other things out of pieces of wood behind the Visitor's center; and Ranger Mills. Signing up before we got to Kentucky is kind of a pain. There weren't a lot of things open and I didn't always get an alert so I had to check the website often to see if tours we wanted to go on were available. We drove 6 hours, from northwest Ohio, to see the Mammoth Caves so I wanted to make sure we were signed up before we got there. I had friends tell me that you absolutely have to try to sign up before you go. I'm glad we did! Beautiful woods, pretty area. We're hoping to come back sometime. The ferry was closed this trip due to recent flooding. We're hoping it will be open next time.
