Thank God for Marion as my son went to SIU for 4 years With the exception of one hotel in Carbondale the rest truly suck. Marion creates the perfect place for students parents to stay especially during graduation. My room was lovely and at a great price. After a long 8 hour drive, relaxing in this room was wonderful. I also slept very well. I wasn't looking for fancy. Very dirty.
Very dirty. Took too long to check in, the clerk gave us three room keys before getting our room we booked online. Other reviews said how clean the rooms, not true. The whole place needs attention. I wasn't in Marion for sightseeing. I grew up in the area. There are many people who refuse to get vaccinated and/or wear a face covering. Marion is a hillbilly, low-education, and Trump supporting town. The people are not very friendly, either. Fortunately, I spent the majority of my time with friends for the week of Thanksgiving. Next time, I absolutely will avoid the America's Best Value Inn. It is a total dump, with roaches, and filthy. For other travelers, if you enjoyed the show Hee-Haw from the 1970's/80's, you will like this region.Guest review byBrent
