Our room and bathroom were clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly and kind. The continental breakfast was well stocked and provided an arrange of options. We enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to another stay in the future.

The place is literally heaven on earth! The location is perfect. We went to a few short wet hikes with the girls. The host was super nice, we traveled a lot, and a place like Camp Swan is hard to come by.

I stayed here last year and it was OK. My only complaint was that the toilet was original 1970. This year the toilet was brand new. Flushed properly and was comfort height. Excellent. I complained in my review last year and it looks like they made an effort to fix it.

    Go and explore Monteagle!

Go and explore Monteagle! Not much around but a few minutes away is Sewanee -enjoyed the art studio, eating at "lunch" was great. Shops and a beautiful campus to drive through. A good day. A few minutes the other direction is Tracy city with a great bakery and nice little park. If you like hiking, bike riding, motorcycle riding or just driving the mountain roads, you can relax here. We also went to check out two offroad parks, Coalmont and adventure offroad park. We will be back with our RZR for some offroad adventure. They are less than an hour from Monteagle. One final note, there are many tiny houses for rent, we had a terrible experience at one here. Stay at the Sewanee Inn if you want comfort, to spend "tiny house" money and be WAY more comfortable. That and the host charged us for a third night even though we left a day early because it was SO bad. Also, my new truck got a chip in my paint from their lawn crew.

The exterior of the building needs attention - big areas of missing paint. The room was ok. Since there was no breakfast, there was an in-room coffee pot, however, it did not get resupplied when the room was serviced during our week-long stay.

Monteagle is transitioning; there are some very nice restaurants, access to nature trails and The University of The South. It is not a destination location, it is a "commuter town" to other locations. There are a number of closed/ businesses in need of renovation. It's a mixed bag.

My sister & good friend stayed here for a concert that was canceled but we did enjoy the area anyway. We found a non denominational spirit filled church service that we liked possibly as much as we would have the concert. There were restaurants & stores handy . The friendly country charm was everywhere from the restaurants to the holel . Love this place . High on a mountain of love.😊❤

Monteagle has a lot to offer.

Monteagle has a lot to offer. There are a lot of parks and hiking trails around the area. Just to the southeast you have Chattanooga only 45 minutes away with access to Lookout Mountain and Nickajack Lake. The weather is mild and pleasant even in the middle of Summer. There are Mountains and trees and lots of creeks rivers and lakes. Nashville is a little more of a drive 90 minutes to the north on I-24.

I have been traveling from Michigan to this small and sweet little town for 4 yrs. Everyone is so friendly. I love all the small shops. The view is also amazing. The town is on top of a mountain and the trails for hiking are gorgeous

Breakfast? No idea if this was offered; my husband and I woke early and the "lobby" was locked. So much for coffee. When we first arrived, we were given a faulty key card and hotel management all but insisted we were to blame. When maintenance (?) attempted to use it, to no avail (big surprise), we were given a replacement. Actually, mgmt tossed the key card up to my husband on the second floor. Way to make people feel welcome. For our hard earned money, we will be staying someplace else next time around.

I liked that the sports bar is attached downstairs it made supper a breeze with a nice drink beforehand. Didn’t have to speak to anyone to enter hostel/room just went in with code provided. VERY clean, a little compact which isn’t necessarily a bad thing unless you have trouble getting around. It was basic yet functional. It IS shared with 3 other guests, though you get your own bedroom.

The location was great. The restaurant provided a nice glimpse of the local culture. They had some live music which was entertaining. The food was good. It’s more of a motel than a hotel. Staff was very friendly at motel and restaurant.
