Although we had to leave before breakfast usually starts, they gave us smaller breakfast bags with some basics. That was great. Also, the transfer was reliable. We followed the instructions how to find it and we managed without much hassle - there were other transfer busses for other hotels coming to the same spot. The room was spacious, well equipped and comfortable for a night stay. We were returned the money safety deposit right after check-out, which was great.

The rooms were clean and spacious. Staff were so helpful. Newark penn station was only a 10min walk and the train into new York was easy to get. Airport transfer from Newark airport was an added bonus aswell.

    From the periodic information passengers were able to get my United flight to Portland Maine was repeatedly delayed and then cancelled because the plane would not be able to land once it arrived. Apparently the problems on 4 September were building up throughout the day. Before the flight from LA landed my daughter in Sydney, Australia messaged me to tell there were ”shenanigans” at Newark.

    By far the worst experience of my life!

    By far the worst experience of my life! I've traveled around the world for the last 50 years, but I had never experienced such a terrible experience as I did at the Howard Johnson EWA ! I strongly recommend you eliminate that hotel from the listing!

    I liked the train and the fact that for the most part they run on time. Ate at iHOP, Meal was lovely but a little pricey. Stayed in the hotel the next day and ordered Chinese food. This was fantastic and tremendous value for money.

    Area was downtown Newark and typical of such Urban areas. The only nearby pharmacy was closed at 500 in the afternoon. The convenience store nearby quoted one price for my transaction, then charged $11 plus dollars extra. My fault for bot raking a receipt. Blight of anything decent to eat within walking distance but then there's Uber Eats and Doir Dash. I had to walk 20 minutes to the nearest pharmacy, a Walgreens but it was well equipped and lots of restaurants nearby. Near the hotel, lots of historic churches and buildings. All in all, it was a pleasant stay and I would stay there agai

    Could never reach a help from booking.com for the problem I...

    Could never reach a help from booking.com for the problem I had. Arriving at the place I notice a email letting me know the room was not available any more. Even I HAD PAID ALREADY. I did try to reach the owner and Booking.com No success. Until now I don’t have idea how to get the reimbursement.

    I visit my son in Newark every month.

    I visit my son in Newark every month. As a single father who wants to spend quality time a son, Newark offers many places to visit. American dream mall its just 20 mins away and you can spend a good day with a lot of entertaiments, recreations, restaurants, and more. I like visit Newark for its closines to NY city too. People are nice, police officer are nice, food is great, I never get borde in Newark.

    Easy regular pick up/drop off at Newark Airport by hotel shuttle. My room was huge with a couch, kitchenette, desk, TV, bath and shower and king bed! Very big, immaculately clean, looks new or refurbished. Perfect for early morning international flight at EWR as Airport shuttle is 24/7, just booked when checking in. Nothing is a problem.     We have stayed here several times as the location suits our needs. The shuttle to the airport is an excellent service. The hotel rooms are clean and are a good size. We have always experienced helpful staff and enjoyed a good breakfast.
