The hotel was in close proximity to our family around Fort Smith, Arkansas. We at Chili's the first night as it was close, open later than other places in town and we know the chain always has some of our favorite foods. There was plenty of room for a group of us to sit and visit downstairs for breakfast or each evening rather than needing to go to guest rooms and sit on beds to carry on a conversation.

The facility and staff were good as we were there for an Eagle conference. Our only bad experience was the smoke alarm in our room. It was going off when we arrived. Let the desk know and someone came to repair. The next day when we returned from our meeting it went off again and woke us up about 2am. I attempted to fix it myself by taking it down and found it was hard wired but there was a button on it and when I touched it it went silent. Upon returning the next day, it went off again around 2 am again. This time I reached up and hit the button and it went silent. We left the next day as our conference was over. If we stay at this location again for conference, I will insist on a different room.

There were no Vending machines or even a Ice machine.
There were no Vending machines or even a Ice machine. I have never stayed anywhere with no ice machine. We were in a smoking room and we had to ask for ash tray and a coffee maker and even batteries for the TV remote. Then we had trouble even getting the TV to work. I will never stay there again.

It's a small town and there isn't anything to do but dine but the food at all the restaurants isn't all that great. They do have chain restaurants and the food is as would be expected. As far as local restaurants, it's hit or miss if the food is decent. I recommend dining at Warehouse Willy's. Fantastic steaks and fried pork belly.

Poteau is the cutest little town in the boonies of Oklahoma, the people are amazingly nice and the views are stunningly beautiful. There is a road that circles around Cavanal that is one of the most beautiful drives. Not to mention the amazing view from atop Cavanal. If your looking for a relaxing and friendly place to vacation Poteau would be the perfect place!

The room and scenery was awesome, lake right out the window with furnished grill, fire pit, picnic table, porch, breezeway. Also the room had a kitchenette, eating table, comfortable loveseat, and great a/c heater. Our only complaint was the bed. It was a full size mattress, hard, and bouncy. That won't keep us from returning. We now have the information and can ensure we get the correct room.

The lady who handled our check in was awesome, the hotel was super close to our friend's wedding, and the breakfast was MUCH better than most hotel breakfasts.
