We hadn't realized it before we arrived, but the village of Highland Falls had been hammered by floods three weeks before our stay. Folks were well into fixing up the town. We had a great time walking around talking to people about what had happened, and were glad we could support the local economy. The village of Cornwall and Stormking State Park were both nearby and great places to visit as well.

    We were there to attend Graduation Week at the USMA @ West...

    We were there to attend Graduation Week at the USMA @ West Point, therefore, we didn't do any touristy things, besides eating out. We liked the fact that there are grocery stores and lots of restaurants within a 5 mile radius, easy drives.

    Very cute and cozy spot that was perfect for our quick stay...

    Very cute and cozy spot that was perfect for our quick stay in the area for a wedding at nearby Abbey Inn and Spa. This house had awesome views from both levels, and it had a really great yard with such fun gardens and lots of great seating. This house had everything we needed for a quick weekend trip (although it should be noted that we did not cook!). The space was thoughtfully decorated, lived-in but clean, and really cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed staying here. Our favorite part? The adorable and very sweet cat that hung around outside! :)
