FAQs about hotels in Salt Lake City

A Location to Relish

Salt Lake City is the surprisingly green Utah capital between the mighty Wasatch Mountain Range and the Great Salt Lake. Aside from skyscrapers housing industrial banks, the skyline is dominated by monuments of the Church of the Latter-Day Saints which is headquartered here.

A church member, Brigham Young, founded the city in what is now This Is The Place Heritage Park. A tower sculpture commemorates the settlers’ trek across America by handcart, an example of which is in the Pioneer Memorial Museum. Walled Temple Square has the main Mormon sights: the Temple is only visitable by members, but anyone can listen to the famous Tabernacle choir.

The State Capitol sits majestically on top of a hill with views of peaks offering winter skiing and summer hiking. The city hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics and one venue was the Olympic Cauldron Park within the University of Utah, also home of the Fine Art Museum and Natural History Museum.

The Gilgal Sculpture Garden is a more unusual Salt Lake City attraction and down the road is the Trolley Square Mall. More branded stores are in the Gateway District, while Sugar House is more trendy and eclectic.

Booking.com’s accommodation options include hotels with hot tubs, motels allowing pets and cheap apartments near Salt Lake City Airport.

Very pleasant walkable and cyclable (B-bike GREENbikes!) city. Nice and warm and sunny in summer. Lots of green areas, clean, lots of pleasant hikes close by. Antelope Island is worth a visit or two. Or three.

I travelled to SLC for work, but had some time to see some of the city, I came with pretty low expectations - SLC was not on my wish list of places to visit. However, I was pleasantly surprised and ended up liking SLC far more than I thought I would. It had a very open, friendly and inclusive vibe, with relaxed and friendly locals. There were great places to eat and some really good cultural options at very reasonable rates. If I had had more time there was much more that I would have liked to see and do there!

There are so many wonderful things to do & to see in the Salt Lake region. Even under construction, Temple Square was amazing. The pioneer spirit that is so evident there is remarkable. All the museums and interactive activities were crazy good. The Family Search Center should you your own family lineage and who your ancestors are. Center City mall was pricy but very nice. Outside SLC, just little south was Thanksgiving Pointe. So incredible for children, but there is fine dining too as well as a day spa and Tom Holman (May be off on his name a bit) his stain glass gallery is beautiful. And the shops are great too. I especially liked the shop converted from the old mill. It has all the gears & mechanisms of the mill still emplace. That kept my husband busy while I shopped.

Lots of history here. Plenty to see and do. It’s a beautiful, clean city. There are lots of historic houses and buildings downtown. Everyone seemed to take pride in their appearance, and we enjoyed seeing so many men dressed in suits. Visiting the Great Salt Lake was amazing!

The property was clean and good location to the airport. They offered a great shuttle service and was easy to get in contact with them to arrange this. I really felt that the staff were so unfriendly and unhelpful. They didn’t seem welcoming and didn’t really want to engage in conversation about the area or give any helpful tips/advice. The breakfast was also very basic and not enough places to sit. I had to stand and eat my food on a paper plate. The stay just made me get a bad feel of Salt Lake City and put a sour taste in my mouth.

The grounds and facilities are wonderful. It's a whole city block compound downtown. Two fancier-looking high rise hotels and several buildings of motel-style rooms. We stayed in the motel style. You can pull your car right up to the door. They comped the parking fee, which seems like the right thing to do for a motel. Room was large enough with nice furnishings and a good bathroom.
