Wonderful quaint community with fun historical elements to visit. The Mexican food was GREAT! and Vertigo was GREAT! We hiked the Pinnacles on Saturday when we arrived. Checked in, had a great late lunch at Jardines de San Juan Restaurant. Slept in and visited the town the next day Sunday and had great Pizza and Coffee at Vertigo. We returned for lunch at Jardines de San Juan Restaurant before we headed home. A wonderful weekend.

Great, small California Mission town.
Great, small California Mission town. Best Japanese food, fantastic taqueria at the grocery store, Lapperts Ice Cream shop, many antique stores, interesting clothing stores. Lots of early California heritage— the mission, it’s grounds and the town. Lovely, peaceful town. One of our favorite stops when traveling south.

A tiny little town with a lot of interesting options.
A tiny little town with a lot of interesting options. There was some shopping, including quite a few antique/junk stores. The bakery was great, as were the beer and wine options. Restaurant selections and coffee at Vertigo were good too. Music was great at wine/beer bar. The mission is a sad place of history, yet something that you should see. We hiked up Fremont Peak and it was a good one. Beautiful view. You can easily spend a weekend in SJB.

We stopped over in San Juan Bautista on our way to Highway 1 and San Diego. Pleasant easy to walk small town full of early California history that is located in the beautiful San Juan Valley. Had an excellent (and huge!) flavorful vegan burrito full of a good selection of different veggies at Jardines de San Juan. Menu options for vegetarians/vegans appear to be quite limited in San Juan Bautista from what we observed.

SJB is a quaint little mission town.
SJB is a quaint little mission town. Dinner at Jardines with some local friends made it even more special. I lived nearby 21 years ago and was glad to see that the only obvious change was the main street--the change was the only good thing I've seen in the wake of March 2020. Besides a newer housing development just outside of town, it was nice that SJB remains the same. Kudos to them for keeping it small.

The place is a little gem. You won't expect, as it is located next to a big street cross, but the area is quiet and peaceful. The hotel has been renovated with attention to details. The breakfast is good and the central courtyard is lovely.

Nice hotel for a one night stop-over. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, but this is what makes it good. Super friendly staff, nice atmosphere and comfortable rooms.

Hotel is in a beautiful location. The ambience of the property is beautiful with trees in the courtyard. Rooms are spacious, clean & silent during night.
