My mom grew up in Savannah Illinois and we were back to see her sister who is older than she is my mom is 86 years old. We were able to go to the cemeteries after seeing her sister and her niece and take pictures at the bridge and meet all all relatives back there.

Love that it is an old, old historic town!! I mean, you walk in some of the buildings and it is as if time just stopped in the 1800s!! The smell, the aura.....I could live there!! The people are all so friendly! We met an older gentleman at one of the businesses and he gave us a brief history of the town and some of the buildings!! One of the buildings gave ghost tours....you could feel that the building was haunted, but not a scary haunted....I wanted to stay and listen to him all day!! The views and scenery were awesome!! Then, there is Poopy's! If you visit, it is a must!!

Nice sleepy little river town. No chains except the gas station. Not sure you want to wear a mask? This place has several no mask needed venues. We opted to wear masks and keep distance but we were not the majority. The park - Mississippi Palisades Park is amazing!! Don't miss it!
