The town is charming and historic, with almost no litter.
The town is charming and historic, with almost no litter. The buildings are well maintained, and the variety of shops is pleasing. The two elements which diminished our enjoyment were the gay pride flags everywhere and the BLM signs. Super convenient to the bike trail. Unfortunately previous cyclists had cleaned their bikes in their rooms and the hotel now has a policy of no bicycles in rooms. Whilst I was nervous about leaving it at reception, they took excellent care of the security. That was great because we were traveling the C&O canal with lots of stuff on the bike and did not want to leave them outside. The location was awesome! There is a mall with a Food Lion next to the hotel and a few stores. We walked to downtown for dinner and walked back. Less than 1 mile.
