A nice little city with some good dining options and friendly people. Try the Old Mill Pub for lunch or dinner, and walk over to the Bankery for beautiful baked goods to take home. Zaap Thai restaurant is decidedly retro and funky. Just up the street is Gifford's Ice Cream and mini golf. Nice parks, shops, and atmosphere downtown.

Location is on the edge of town right next to McDonalds, with a shopping center quite close and across the highway. We skipped the breakfast as it was quite minimal. We were attending an event in Waterville and all the accommodations closer were either sold out or much more expensive so we thought we'd try Skowhegen and the Belmont. It's not deluxe but it is clean, the value is quite good, and the front desk was friendly. We'd stay here again.
Belmont was conveniently located near a family event. The staff was very accommodating even though I had to alter my original plans. They were able to add extra guests and not make and of us feel packed in together. Greeted us upon arrival and gave information needed. Rooms were clean and well designed.
