A wonderful town. I liked the nautical vibe. People were very friendly. Restaurants and activities were great. Superb beach. Planning to go back for a longer stay soon. did not have alot of time so visited the downtown area.
did not have alot of time so visited the downtown area. On a Sunday many stores were open and all people were friendly and helpful. Did not have time to do a hike even though trails were close by. Drove to the lighthouse that was just beyond the downtown area. I believe it was the Taste were I ate. Was recommend by a shop owner as probably being good for someone who is GF. South Haven has many good shops, restaurants and breweries.
South Haven has many good shops, restaurants and breweries. We visited just about every brewery, our favorite was South Haven Brewpub. Our favorite restaurant was Taste. South Haven is small, so you can walk just about everywhere. We were there in the off season (mid-October) so some restaurants were closed and parking was easy. I imagine in-season parking could be more difficult. We like to hike and bike and there are a couple of trailheads in town, the Van Buren Trailhead and the Kal-Haven Trailhead. The woman on reception when we arrived was extremely helpful and friendly, esp as we had laundry to do. Our girls loved the indoor pool and breakfast the next day was a cheap and cheerful way to save money and start our day.
