We came to visit Taliesin and were very impressed with that experience, as well as our Friday night dinner at Arthur's Supper Club and our evening at the Round Barn Lodge..
Unfortunately, we were on a schedule and didn't have enough time to explore more of this town.

The Spring Valley Inn was nice, but not $200 nice.
The Spring Valley Inn was nice, but not $200 nice. The breakfast eating area to watch birds feeding was nice, and the breakfast was adequate but not worthy of a $200 price tag. The "queen" beds were at best large double beds. The toilet/shower room was a miniature version of any hotel bathroom I have seen. Outlets in the room were not placed in convenient places for electronics near the bed. To make matters worse, the owners added a $6 charge to the bill as a "convenience" fee for using a credit card. I have never seen that for a Booking.com reservation before. While the room was nice, the price tag and surprise extra charge were not very nice.

Very nice town but the hi lite is proximity to Taliesin and American Players Theater. Highly recommend both. Make theater reservations well in advance and take a jacket for the cool outdoor evenings.

The only disappointment was the fact that many of the local restaurants weren’t open on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I’m sure the fact that the summer season had ended was part of the reason, we were there October 2nd,3rd and 4th.

This was our second overnight trip to this area.
This was our second overnight trip to this area. We very much enjoy the American Players Theater (APT) - especially the plays in their outdoor amphitheater. We are also big fans of Frank Lloyd Wright and Prairie style architecture. Spring Green is home to FLW-designed Taliesin home and architecture school. This area is also home to the touristy House on the Rock, with its interesting back story about its builder being an FLW school reject. Small town hospitality. Don't expect haute cuisine unless maybe if you stay at the pricey House on the Rock Resort. We didn't, so can't confirm.
