This was perfect for our one night stay. Loved the proximity to the river and to town. Staff (James) were helpful with recommendations and the pick up and drop off at the railroad was very much appreciated. While the room was older and small it was good value and all that we needed when travelling.

Beautiful cabin in the woods, friendly owener. The fridge was well equipped with complimentary drinks and there were also chips and nuts as well as coffee and tea and other things, you might need.

The accommodation is lovely. An authentic log cabin look from the outside yet inside modern, spotless and extremely well equipped. The kitchen is excellent and there are nice touches like free Netflix and board games. There is a terrace too and ample car parking space. We were met by Greg an extremely helpful host who showed us around. This is an ideal place to stay when visiting Talkeetna.

    Talkeetna is a cute village.

    Talkeetna is a cute village. The old buildings, plus the arty shops make it an interesting stop. While there are touristy things, the village still has an authentic feel. Mountain High Pizza has good pizza. Enjoyed coffee at Conscious Coffee. The Dancing Leaf Gallery has beautiful items handmade by local artists.

    2nd time we have been Talkeetna so that tells you that it is...

    2nd time we have been Talkeetna so that tells you that it is a little goldmine. The ice-cream store you have to line up for it but the wait is worth it. We had zucchini bread from another vendor for breakfast and that was awesome. Around the corner from the icecream shop we found this place which had hamburgers and steak and the meal was amazing. The best fries ever. The quilt shop is brilliant and you can catch a train here for a day tour which we should have done. It is an amazing place. We did a tour of Denali so it was a 2 1/2 hr drive from here to and from but well worth setting up here.

    I'm sure it helped that we had perfect weather....but even if it had not been, a rain jacket/poncho would have helped us still enjoy it. Beautiful views at the river. Great restaurant choices. Nice little stores. LOVED Mahay 3.5 hour Jet Boat excursion. We traveled all of Alaska....Talkeetna was our favorite destination, followed by Seward, Homer, Valdez, Denali, Anchorage, then Fairbanks

    Talkeetna offers the perfect opportunity for outdoor...

    Talkeetna offers the perfect opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts, adventure seekers, and those who wish to relax. We ate dinner and drank beer at the Denali Brewing Company in the evening and breakfast at The Homestead Kitchen the following morning. I recommend both restaurants for dining. Outdoor seating is available at both establishments. Denali Brewing has an outdoor gas fireplace if you can land a table nearby and provides overhead sunshades.

    Small, quirky, artsy town worth your time!

    Small, quirky, artsy town worth your time! Just 13 miles off the main highway, and so much good food!!! Mountain High Pizza Pie, The Salmon Spot, and Roadhouse morning cinnamon rolls, to name a few. Great local shops as well. Would DEFINATELY stay there again!

    Talkeetna is beautiful place. Perfect blend of old and modern. Every establishment I visited had friendly people. Whether it is an airplane flight to white water rafting Talkeetna will not disappoint.

    Location, staff, amenities - everything and everyone there were fantastic! Cabins were well stocked, very comfortable and clean. The sound of the river was so nice to enjoy. We absolutely loved our time there - it was the best place we stayed while in Alaska by far, and in my opinion, also the best in Talkeetna!

    It’s a nice isolated cabin in Talkeetna,and around a 2.5 hour drive from Denali National park. The room was very comfortable with a heater and a fridge, included beds for 4 people but we were 2. The bathroom is a separate place (two showers and toilets) and shared by guests from other cabins.

    The location was in a beautiful wooded area a little over a mile from the main Talkeetna area. Beautiful, quiet area. I enjoyed walking into town from there several times. It was nice having a living room and kitchen area available for all to use there. Very comfortable room!
