The hotel is super clean, great location, the rooms are big and very well kept, and breakfast was very good with a nice variety of food. Alec and Shaun in the valet service are super helpful and friendly! Marquan the bar tender was great. Fast and friendly service from him all weekend. If I return to Tampa I will for sure stay here again!

    It's a great city with lots to see.

    It's a great city with lots to see. From The Sea Aquarium to The Hard Rock hotel and casino and of course Bush Gardens. The best retail therapy with Hyde Park and International Plaza. The traffic was crazy there. I thought Orlando was bad this city might be a little worse. You'd better be in the right lane for turning or you'll never get in.

    We came to Tampa to cruise out of, our first time doing so.

    We came to Tampa to cruise out of, our first time doing so. We usually go out of Port Canaveral. The hotel we stayed at was good for the price and located close to what you need, but away from the water. The only caution I would say was we witnessed a 4 car accident on the highway due to a driver who was either distracted or driving too fast. They ended up flipping their car after hitting two other which caused those cars to hit others. Be careful and alert when driving, but overall a good place to visit, even if just staying the night before a cruise.

    Although I was born in Tampa, I no longer live there. I do come in town every few months as there are many things to do and the restaurants are top-notch. Also, very close to Saint Pete and Clearwater. We’re all the nice beaches are Tampa will always be my home

    Great modern city with lots to do.

    Great modern city with lots to do. The riverwalk along the river was great. Lots of great restaurants. Many museums and outdoor activities. The Warf had good fast food casual dining. Many great parks with lots to do. The free trolly train ride to Ebor city was a must do. Must eat at Columbia Latin restaurant the best tasting food and service i have seen in some time. Visit Ybor City Museum lots of history. The city has great public parking and transportation. Many water taxi and water activities along the river.

    We found Tampa to be a nice city to experience, though it's clearly dominated by its major theme parks, Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. We made a couple of attempts to explore the wider city but were surprised by the lack of shopping opportunities – even our tour boat operator highlighted this by pointing out where a new mall is under construction. You can see that parts of the city are quite run down, but it's also evident that there are efforts underway to improve and regenerate these areas, likely due to its growing popularity. For us, a week felt like the perfect amount of time to spend in Tampa. Any longer, and we feel you'd need to venture further afield for activities, especially if you're not someone who can spend multiple days relaxing on a beach.

    This was our second stay at Hotel South Tampa. Both times, our request for a ground floor room was acknowledged and granted. Both rooms were very clean and comfortable. The bed in each room was nicely made up and comfortable. The included breakfast was very good. There were several choices. Everything was well prepared and tasty. The pool is very nice although we didn't go in due to the weather. There's lots of parking space. The hotel is conveniently located and there's several local restaurants.

    Initially we weren’t sure about the neighbourhood but it turned out to be a good location to local amenities and access to downtown Tampa and St Pete’s/Clearwater. The house was well equipped and comfortable and in good condition. Would recommend for any family visiting Tampa.
