Don’t trust the photos — it’s at least ten times more beautiful in person! This studio is located at the back of the host’s home, surrounded by a lush garden oasis. When we arrived in the afternoon, the host warmly welcomed us. We chatted and discovered we both practice energy healing — I do Theta Healing, and she excitedly shared that she teaches yoga, meditation, and works at a nearby international school with many students from Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. She told us she keeps the energy of her home very clean and intentional — and we could feel it. The plants around her home grew noticeably better than the neighbors’, and we both slept incredibly deeply and peacefully during our stay. When she heard we were on our honeymoon, she surprised us with champagne, chocolates, and a handwritten card. It was such a heartfelt gesture that we’ll never forget. The kitchen was impressively well-stocked — every dish, pan, and utensil we could need, plus delicious Kona coffee. Even the ice water from the fridge somehow had a subtle coffee flavor — we’re still wondering how she did that!

Waimea is a beautiful quaint village near the northern end of the big island of Hawaii. Rural in character but loved by many. It's great cattle country with Parker Ranch and many others smaller ranches in the area. It's only 40 miles to Kona or a short flight to Honolulu.

Nice nature walk right in the middle of town, starting just behind the France-Canada-Hawaii Observatory offices; two nice grocery stores (we preferred the KTA Super Stores Waimea due to the excellent produce and take out sushi and sandwiches). Loved L& & BBQ, FORC, Moa Kitchen, Merriman's, Hawaiian Style Cafe, Kamuela Kitchen & Coffee Bar. Wonderful day trip to Honoka'a, cute town, good shopping. Wonderful half-day trip to Hawai'i Tropical Bioreserve & Gardens - one of best we've visited. Vanilla Farm tour fun. Enjoyed the park & picnic area at Honaunau National Historical Park - great parking areas, clean restrooms, nice little gift shop, all for free entry if you remember to take your National Park Annual Pass; if you don't, for $30 you get a week's pass. So enjoyed the Fair Winds Snorkel 1/2 day trip to Captain Cook Memorial, still wonderful snorkeling after our first trip 30 years ago.

I'll remember Waimea as the place with clean air, amazing views, and having a perfectly-comfortable temperature. Being only an hour from Hilo or Kona, the climate in Waimea is a perfect mix of each climate. There are many good places to eat and a wonderful brewery, seving good beer and food. Waimea is easy to get around and the traffic, while we were there, is minimal.

I liked being able to walk around town, everything was in walking distance. The cool Waimea breeze in the morning and that old country feeling, was great! We also were able to go next door to check out the wonderful locally made art work, and the tasty Waimea food at the Parker Farmer's Market, visiting the farmer's market was the highlight of my trip. I was also able to find some cool tea sets at the antique shop down the road, and at the reuse, recyclable store, all in walking distance.

It is a lodge/motel, located at an altitude of 800 meters, if i remember correctly. The rooms are very large and really well furnished. My wife and I have dined several times at the house, using the room's kitchen: great experience. I probably had the best sleep in Hawaii on those beds, also thanks to the the fact that in the evening/night in Waimea it gets chillier.

Really lovely motel. Would stay her again for sure. We were lucky that we stayed on a Friday night, with the Waimea farmers markets on the next morning at the school next door. There are also great restaurants walking distance, including acclaimed FORC which is right next door. Waimea is a lovely town, really loved it there.

The location and views were excellent, with the mountains/volcanos, sea, countryside and animals. Also a generous size for us. Waimea has good facilities, shops and restaurants that are handy, and it's not that far to the coast and other attractions of the Big Island.
