This hotel was ok for an over night stay.

This hotel was ok for an over night stay. It was very basic. The room was clean but the old window air conditioning unit was very loud and did NOT cool the room efficiently. The bedding was thin, not cozy at all. The location was nice, close to the marina and the water. The coffee bar was nice. We opted not to eat at the restaurant close to the hotel as the food was expensive, we wondered down the closed Main Street and ate at Patsy’s and it was very good. This worked great for visiting the Apostle Islands.

Washburn is a pretty little town with none of over commercialization that has unfortunately happened in Bayfield. It is a great option to staying in Bayfield. Bayfield is still nice but it is not the pretty quiet town it was in the 1970's. The people that live in the Washburn /Bayfiled area are kind and friendly. Not all the visitors are. Some are snobby The pandemic has unfortunately had a negative affect on some of the businesses in the area. There still is a lot to do and see and it still is as beautiful. It is still a great area to visit and worth the time and money to come to.

Washburn Inn: Great location -- LOUSY (non-existent) view of spectacular shore line; outdated rooms, w/ "double" not queen beds. City of Washburn somewhat historically interesting, though not enough so, to merit the long trip north to get there. The Time Out restaurant is a true "local gem" - GREAT food, HUGE portions, MODERATE cost. And . . . it's where the "locals" eat! Both my wife and I made two meals out of the "4 egg omelette" - it was INCREDIBLE! The Apostle Islands boat tour was good; not sure I'd spend $48 +/- again for what we saw; in my opinion tour is somewhat overpriced.
