Whittier is between two great places in the mountains.
Whittier is between two great places in the mountains. The famous Cherokee with its casino is 10 minutes in one direction! In the other direction is a town that holds my heart Bryson City. Both have great family fun activities. Whittier itself has a quiet atmosphere for those who want to visit near by towns and come home to a quiet place. Wanted an overnight stay so we could go to the casino. This location provided exactly what we needed AND it's pet friendly which helped make the final decision. It provides a large "doggie" area to walk the pets. Lots of fast food restaurants directly across the street....most convenient. Everything was clean and updated, with modern appliances and upgrades in a rustic setting. Loved the massive windows and sun-filled open space. There are 3(!) decks, and each was peaceful and relaxing. We loved the grounds and views, along with the privacy. The location is fantastic - less than 15 minutes to Harrah's Cherokee, Bryson City (take the pretty backroads!), Dillsboro, and Sylva.
