The pool and bar on the top floor/roof were amazing! The view from the pool is beautiful and gives you a nice view for the sunset. The breakfast has many options and the quality is high. The staff is eager to help you arrange anything, for example a taxi to the harbor for a Halong Bay cruise.

Review for Ha Long Essence Boutique Hotel I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Ha Long Essence Boutique Hotel, and it was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond with their friendliness and professionalism. The hotel is impeccably clean, and the attention to detail in every corner is impressive. One of the highlights for me was the hot water and the fabulous walk-in shower—it was pure bliss after a long day exploring. The bed was super comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. I also loved that the windows could be opened, allowing fresh air and a lovely breeze into the room. The hotel is in a safe and charming neighborhood with everything you could possibly need nearby. Papa’s Barbecue, just down the street, was a delicious treat, and the beach is within walking distance—a huge plus! For those looking for a bit of nightlife, the Valley Beach nightclub is nearby and always lively. The hotel lobby is handsomely decorated, adding to the overall welcoming vibe, and I must mention the elevator—it always seemed to be on my floor, which felt like a stroke of luck every time! This hotel truly offers a perfect base for exploring Ha Long Bay, as it’s easy to get to everywhere. My stay was amazing, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! Just about everything was perfect with the Halong Land Hotel. Our stay was wonderful as we were there to be near the Bay with lovely views. It was very clean, the owners were friendly and helpful, the shower was great, the bed was comfortable, the wifi was great, breakfast was good, and the room could be cooled or heated as needed. We wished we didn't need to leave! FYI: the Tuan Chau area has fewer services and some of the new-ish buildings even appear to be abandoned before completion. That's not to fault the hotel, though. It actually made for a peaceful stay. Use Grab or Xanh to go to the mainland (Hanoi) for food, ATMs, etc.

Clean, all facilities are very new. It’s a real 5 stars hotel. Some other hotels advertise that they are 5 stars but actually old and not very good. The staffs are super polite and professional!

The breakfast here offers a variety of options, and the hotel owner was very helpful. The room I booked had two large beds, which were very comfortable for our family of four. My children really enjoyed the Vietnamese pho. The pool is on the 6th floor, and you can walk to the beach from there.

    We planned to stay in Halong for 1 day, on our way to Cat Ba island and planned to stay another day on our way back to Hanoi. Due to rough seas after typhoon Kajiki, we stayed 2 days in Halong. The town is very quiet, many businesses and hotels are closed and it shows what happens to a once busy and thriving place, when the tourists no longer come in their previous numbers. Unfortunately, we will stay the extra day now in Hanoi on our way back.

    Facilities on board were excellent and our room was great. Cruise manager Phuc and her staff were absolutely fantastic. The chef and his staff produced the most beautiful food. The presentation of all of the dishes was absolutely spectacular. It was a cruise to be remembered and recommended very highly to friends and family. Thank you Phuc and your lovely staff.     It is a big city with a lot to offer.

    It is a big city with a lot to offer. The draw card is the boat trip On the bay but the weather makes a huge impact on level of enjoyment. The day of our trip rained ALL day so the trip to the beach at the end was pointless whereas we would have liked more time kayaking as we were wet anyway. Chops and Hops had great food and drink, unfortunately the smoking at surrounding tables while we were eating was a hard no thank you. We used grabs to easily adventure around the city.

    The mountains are beautiful - but dirty.

    The mountains are beautiful - but dirty. The water was totally polluted and you could not swim in it . Every cruise ship empties their drainage and dirty water into the sea, every day for about a 100 ships. Really disappointing. There is no reason to go for more than one day, just to paddle and see the mountains. The cruise is very expensive and this tour is too inflated , overrated and over priced.

    Great hotel for its purpose. We stayed here, because we needed to get on one of the boats in Ha Long Bay the day after. Booked this one, as it was closest to our starting point. More of a luxury business hotel, but with great facilities and very spacious and nice rooms. View over the bay is just amazing and the roof-top swimming pool was probably the best feature.

    The staff was amazingly friendly during our stay. Probably the nicest staff we had over our whole trip in Vietnam. The hotel has everything that would be needed for a short stay and waiting to board on a ha long bay cruise. Great price for value as well!
