A very beautiful location with a direct view of the luxurious rice fields. The most attractive terraced fields in Vietnam are located nearby. The rooms in the bungalows are rustic, but very nicely decorated and clean. But the most impressive thing is the exceptionally friendly staff. They read the guests' wishes from their eyes. In addition to breakfast, they also offer rich lunches. I highly recommend it!

This is an exceptional and truly charming hotel. For context, we are well travelled and have stayed in luxury hotels all over the world. There is something very special about Garrya Mu Cang Chai. Firstly, the hotel design is beautiful and reflects the local area. Stunning communal spaces with high bamboo ceilings, green marble tiles used in the pool, sun loungers the same colour as the soil etc. The staff are wonderful. Extremely helpful, proud to be working at the hotel and genuinely want you to have the best stay. Special mention to Luis in the bar and the F&B manager, but really, all the drivers, wait staff and reception have genuine smiles on their faces! They are also proud to employ local staff (H’Mong) that they are training up and again just really want to make your stay as good as possible. We were lucky enough to stay in a 2 bedroom villa with pool and it was beautiful. We also saw the rooms and if you are a couple, I would definitely recommend upgrading to the Grand Deluxe room, (not much more expensive and IMO the deluxe room is too small for a hotel of this calibre)! If you have a sense of adventure, the hotel can organise a motorbike trip to the horseshoe paddy and bamboo forest. Mu Cang Chai is an area of outstanding natural beauty and well worth exploring. This was one of our favourite parts of the trip. Spa is excellent, as were the activities organised by the hotel. Gently, but enough for 2-3 nights.

This is one of my best places to stay in Vietnam, the location is extremely quiet after tiring and noisy days in the cities. From top of the hill you can view the villages, fields and sunset from the hammock on the floor. Also the trekking with Ms Ha was really the perfect highlight, we went through the Hmong villages, saw how they farm on the terraced fields, challenging and interesting, during the trip I was introduced to a lot of local culture, customs and everything was authentic not like a tourist location. Here can completely provide a vegetarian meal for my needs. I fully appreciated and recommend this place to other people.

Location if you like to scape of the crowds, is at the top of a hill where you can do paragliding, the views are breathtaking, the road to get there is awesome to the ones who are riding Vietnam with motorbike this a great spot to overnight and keep going, you’re in the middle of the mountains that you can see the clouds hook up at the top of them, all the noises from insects can be heard without the eternal noise of an engine running from far. There’s a restaurant where despite is not the cheapest are good portions. The family invite me to join them to dinner at night and even I didn’t understand a word it felt such a lovely atmosphere.

Staying at this homestay was such a great experience and one of the most authentic stays we’ve had in Vietnam. The hosts were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. We shared breakfast and dinner with them, and the food was incredible. One of us is vegetarian, and they went out of their way to cook the best vegetarian meals we’ve had in Vietnam so far. They even let us sit in the kitchen and watch them cook, which was such a lovely experience. They also showed us how to make rice wine and let us try some—it was really fun to see the process and taste the result! The hosts were so friendly and took the time to chat with us about our lives. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, and for the price, it’s great value. They even helped organise our bus the next morning, making everything super easy. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a real homestay experience!
