What a wonderful boutique hotel! The staff is extremely kind, honestly, I've probably only seen such kindness in Bali. We arrived at the hotel at 6 in the morning, they took care to serve us breakfast and as soon as the room got free, we were accommodated. Clean, spacious room (we chose the Junior Suite) and with a superb view of the field lot (if you catch the lotus season). Superb location, close to the street, but still quiet.

We spend a total of 2 nights here. The bungalows are great, clean, comfortable beds and we loved the design, each bungalow is unique. The ambiance of this place is superb! Upon arrival Mr. Kim and his team gave us a warm welcome. You can easily rent a motorbike here and explore the surrounding area, so the location of Lamia is perfect. Kim advised us which places we should visit and in which order. Besides this he could also give you some tips about your next destination in Vietnam. Breakfast and dinner are delicious and you have a lot of choices. Oh and don’t forget to try their coconut cappuccino. In short, we have found our favorite spot in this region.

I could not fault my stay at Tam Coc Wonderland Bungalow. An amazing place to stay if you are in Ninh Binh from the location to Tam Coc, the staff, the rooms and don't even get me started on the breakfast. As I am a solo traveller they organized a motor bike to take me around all of the sites. 10/10.

Nah was the best host, so kind and accommodating and an excellent cook, the rooms and beds super comfortable. Great location. Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there but Nah looked after us and we worked from the homestat and she even cooked us some lunch and dinner when we did want to go out.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were lovely, I liked the fact it was family-run. The room was perfect, one of the nicer bathrooms we have had since our trip around Vietnam. The location was ideal for walking into Tam Coc. The breakfast was basic but like any other breakfast we have had here, it was a good start to the day. Great value for money!

    We spent two days in Ninh Binh and could have easily spent a day or two longer. It's a very laid back area and there is lots to see. We stayed between Trang An and Tam Coc and used bicycles to get around. The quieter location suited us but for younger travellers Tam Coc is more vibrant. The walk to the top of Hang Mua viewpoint is best done in the early morning (we went before breakfast) so it isn't too crowded and not too hot. There were mountain goats roaming around when we walked up (around 7.00am) but they'd gone by the time we descended and more people were arriving. We didn't take the boat ride in Tam Coc but we took a boat ride in Trang An. The scenery seems more mountainous around Trang An than Tam Coc. On the day we went the water was high so we couldn't go into the caves and there was only one route open, which seemed to be a mix of the other routes. The boat trip lasted around 2.5 hours and was excellent. We also visited the old town at night, which was nice. It's all lit up and there are some good places to eat on the waterfront. Bich Dong temple is also worth visiting. There is a staircase leading up to a smaller shrine and to the left of that there is a passage through a bat cave and up to another small shrine outdoors.

    The view is stunning.

    The view is stunning. I was shocked of how beautiful and cleaned this city is. You can enjoy cycling around the city under the quiet, historic and cultural atmosphere. At the famous landmarks, there was no scam or shoving, hustling, jostling. The goat meat in Ninh Binh is so delicious

    Overall, the experience was very good.

    Overall, the experience was very good. Trang An and Mua Cave were absolutely must-visit places—stunning and unforgettable. If there’s one small note, I found that prices around Tam Coc were a little higher compared to Trang An, but it didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment of the trip.

    My visit to Ninh Binh was only to visit Cuc Phuong National...

    My visit to Ninh Binh was only to visit Cuc Phuong National Park and I caught the end of the butterfly migration which was an exceptional, never to be forgotten experience. The nearest ATM to Wyndham Grand is only a 5 minute drive away but it is advisiable to bring cash to pay taxi drivers, shops and the National Park entrance fee. Taxis are easy to arrange and fairly reasonably priced. It is common to agree a price for a round trip and often the driver will wait for you, sometimes for several hours.

    Hoa Lu, the ancient capital is a great place to visit, pls book the tour guide who can help you to understand the place, pls spend time for walking around, even climd up the mountain to see the whole landscape. We did have a great time and we enjoyed it a lot. Thung Nham is another place worth visiting, especially at 5pm when all the birds are flying back home, it is fantastic view to see and enjoy Night market with long walk along the river is another great experiences. The food, the people and the landscape of Ninh Binh: wonderful!

    Great homestay in Tam Coc (approximately 7km to Ninh Binh). The family running the homestay is really a very lovely family and we felt home and welcome the moment we arrived. The breakfast is typical Vietnamese, i.e. some fruits, rice, pancakes, white bread, juice, etc. Our bungalow was comfortable and clean and the pool and pool area is great and a perfect place for relaxing. We had three wonderful days in Tam Coc, Trang An and Ninh Binh. Therefore, we would definitely stay at Tam Coc Village Bungalow, again.

    The staff were friendly and very supportive when we needed help with a financial issue while we were traveling in Vietnam. The hotel was a bit further from the busier parts of Tam Coc but only 2 minutes walk from the Bich Dong Pagoda. There were some great local restaurants nearby as well as another boat tiar although we didn't take it. The breakfast had a nice selection and was tasty. We were allowed to check in a little early and use the bicycles while we waited to depart back to Hanoi.

    Tam Coc Retreat is a hidden jewel in the Ninh Binh area. We had a wonderful stay in Villa 1, very spacious room, really comfortable and well thought. The aircon in every room was extremely useful during the raining season which was incredible hot in August. The hotel seems quite new and very well organised, the staff is extremely helpful, friendly and polite. Overall our stay was a 10 out of 10 and will definitely come back!

    The hotel was around 15min walking distance to Tam Coc center and close to most of NINH BINH most famous attractions. The hotel provided us bikes for free, which was very useful for going around and discovering beautiful landscapes on our own. Breakfast was good and the restaurant had a wonderful view on the mountains and the rice fields. The room was spacious and had a nice toilet.

    Brilliant location is in the centre of Tam Coc but down a little road so it’s so quiet and peaceful. Room was clean, the hotel owner organised our full day tour for us and our transport to the railway station. Easy to get to the Ninh Binh tourist attractions.
